PHS Builds Coalition in Support of Social Care Access as WholeYouNYC Reaches 600,000 Screening Milestone
PHS Builds Coalition in Support of Social Care Access as WholeYouNYC Reaches 600,000 Screening Milestone New York State is currently accepting public comments on a major five-year extension of its Medicaid 1115 demonstration waiver, with the comment period closing on August 21, 2026. The waiver, administered through New York’s Medicaid Redesign Team, shapes how millions of New Yorkers access health and social care services, making this a critical moment for communities across the city.
It is against this backdrop that Public Health Solutions (PHS) has convened a growing coalition of healthcare, financial, and community partners in support of social care access for Medicaid members residing in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens, as its WholeYouNYC network reaches a major milestone of 600,000 screenings completed toward a goal of 1 million by December 2026.
Hyphen Health, Blooming Health, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Flagstar Bank, and Millin Medical have all signed an open letter in support of the coalition, joining PHS in calling on New Yorkers to get screened and connect with the health services available to them.
Through its WholeYouNYC network of 200+ health care providers and community-based organizations, PHS helps Medicaid members navigate a complex health care system, cutting through the barriers that too often stand between individuals and families and the care they need. Culturally competent screenings and navigation services have unlocked for thousands of New Yorkers access to nutrition, housing, and transportation support, all crucial drivers of long-term health outcomes.
This work depends on the support of people who believe every New Yorker deserves access to care. Whether you are a Medicaid member in need of services, an organization looking to join the coalition, or someone who wants to help make this mission possible, there is a place for you in this effort.
