We assist parents, caregivers, or youth ages 0-24 struggling with obtaining education support, mental health, child welfare, or other supportive services.

Our Family and Youth Peer Support team offers genuine help from people who truly understand. Our trained Family and Youth Peer Advocates draw on their own lived experience to guide, support, and empower families and youth who are navigating emotional, developmental, or behavioral challenges, seeking support from the education or foster care systems, managing substance use concerns, and more.

We primarily serve families residing in Brooklyn, with the capacity to also support families in other boroughs by assisting them to connect with other FYPS services.

A mother and her 3-year-old child relocated to New York after leaving an abusive relationship. With support from her FYPS Peer Advocate, she was able to secure stable housing, essential resources, and rental assistance. Through advocacy and guidance, she gained confidence in using her voice and advocating for her child. By the end of services, she had moved into her new home, her child was thriving in a new school, and she began a fulfilling job as a Family Peer Specialist.
