CAMS Expanding Services With Two New RFPs
CAMS - the contract management arm of Public Health Solutions released two new RFPs this month, through its master contractor relationship with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH).
The Bureau of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control (BHIV) of the NYC DOHMH, through PHS, is requesting proposals from eligible organizations to implement Capacity Building and HIV Prevention Services with a specific target population of Black men who have sex with men (MSM), a demographic disproportionately affected by HIV. This RFP cites that the use of Pre- and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP and PEP) remains low among persons of color and young MSM, and highlights the need to focus efforts on ensuring HIV prevention services for Black MSM address structural and social barriers. This RFP consists of four service categories: 1) Organizational Support for agencies serving Black MSM, 2) Organizational capacity building assistance for agencies serving Black MSN, 3) Citywide public health detailing campaign on PrEP and PEP for the prevention of HIV, 4) Events to promote the health and wellness of Black MSM.
The second RFP request has been sent out to identify an appropriately qualified organization to implement a New York City Behavioral Health Tobacco Cessation Center, with the goal of providing training for 165 unique clinical and non-clinical mental health providers working in a variety of settings.
The Center will offer free in-person tobacco cessation training; refresher webinars, telephonic or web-based technical assistance for mental health providers who have received training; and web-based and in-print resources and research materials for tobacco users.
