Mary Ann Chiasson, DrPH, joined Public Health Solutions as the Vice President for Research & Evaluation in 1999.
Previously, she served for fourteen years in various capacities at the New York City Department of Health, including nine years as an Assistant Commissioner of Health with scientific and administrative responsibility for AIDS Surveillance, HIV/AIDS Research, and Vital Statistics and Epidemiology. Her research interests and expertise include the epidemiology of HIV and STIs, women's reproductive health, and early childhood obesity.
Her HIV/STI related research focuses on the relationship between the Internet and high-risk sexual behavior among men who have sex with men (MSM). Since 2001, she has focused more broadly on how digital media can be harnessed to improve contraceptive counseling for women and the delivery of HIV and obesity prevention interventions.
